Meet Andres Martinez — A Waiter Who Decided to Stop Trading Time for Money
A few years ago I was waiting tables, making decent money, but trading every hour for a paycheck. I discovered co-living real estate and something clicked — I could own the asset, not just work for someone who did.
The problem was I had no capital. No savings. No W2 impressive enough for a bank. So I didn't use a bank. I found private money partners — people with capital but no time — and structured 50/50 deals. They fund the deal. I run the operation. We split the cashflow.
In under 2 years, I went from zero to 74 doors across 10 DFW properties. I quit my job. Now I run Lone Star Rooms — my operating company — and Coliving Freedom Unlocked — where I teach exactly what I did.
